Get ready to race!!! This Saturday is it! Have your car ready to go.

We’re looking forward to a great race. Bring the whole family - parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, Etc.

We plan to take a break for lunch from around 12 noon to 12:30 pm. We will be selling lunch for $3.00. This will include:

If you want extra it will cost: There will be hot chocolate and coffee all day. (Donations)

All money earned will go toward the final payment for the Pinewood Derby Track.

PINEWOOD DERBY RULES


  1. All cars must pass inspection to qualify for the race. The inspection Points are as follows:
    1. The car must have been made during the current year.
    2. The width of the car shall not exceed 2 ¾ inches.
    3. The length of the car shall not exceed 7 inches.
    4. The weight of the car shall not exceed 5 ounces.
    5. Axles, wheels, and body wood shall be as provided in the kit.
    6. Wheel bearings, washers, and bushings are prohibited.
    7. The car shall not ride on any kind or type of springs.
    8. Any details added must be within length, width, and weight limits.
    9. The car must be freewheeling, with no starting devices.
    10. No loose materials of any kind (such as lead shot) are allowed in the car.
  2. Each heat will be announced. Drivers will report to the starting line and place their cars on the track. All other people must remain behind the barrier.
  3. The starter will make sure the cars are on the track properly and then will start the race.
  4. The drivers will report to the finish line to retrieve their cars.
  5. The car whose nose is over the finish line first is the winner. Place spotters will select the first-, and second- place winners.
  6. If a car leaves the track, runs out of its lane, interferes with another car, loses an axle, etc., the heat will be rerun.
  7. When the results of each heat are recorded, the drivers will take their cars and return to their seats.
  8. Awards will be announced shortly after the heat for which the awards are to be given.
  9. Awards will also be given for best looking car.
  10. Remember, every one who races is a winner!!!
