Hornet’s Nest District – 2008 Cuboree
When: Friday, April 25th – to Sunday, April 27th, meet at CUMC at 5:30.
Where: Belk Scout Camp – Midland, NC
Who: All registered District Cub Scouts, Leaders and Parents
Cost: $20.00 per Scout or Sibling, $15.00 per Adult Leader or Parent
Registration: Only one application is required per Pack at the Scout office on or before April 4th. A minimum of three adults per every 20 scouts registered is required for staffing work during a portion of the Cuboree. If less than twenty, a minimum of two adults must volunteer to help with one event on Saturday or in the kitchen for one meal.
Activities: BBs, Archery, Crafts, Rocketry, Fire Safety, Map & Compass
Meals: Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner and Sunday breakfast will be provided. Class A uniform required when indicated in the schedule.
Check-In: Check-in will be at the front gate, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, April 25th. Maps to Belk Scout Camp are available via e-mail or fax. Schedules and camp site assignments will be given out at check in.
Camping: Cub World platform tents will be assigned based on registration dates. Packs who desire to bring their own tents can do so.
We will meet at CUMC at 5:30 pm and will leave no later than 5:45 pm. Please eat supper before you arrive.
You will need a sleeping bag, pillow, change of clothes, toiletry items, flash light, and items appropriate for the weather – e.g. raincoat, hat, coat. Please check the weather report so you will be prepared. We will be sleeping in platform tents, and you will have to carry your supplies in, so pack everything well.
You may also bring a small cooler with drinks or bottled water if you wish. You may also wish to bring some snacks. Also it comes in really handy if you have a camp chair.
All meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday are provided. Scouts do not need to wear their uniforms on Friday but will need to wear them for Saturday dinner and church on Sunday. Plan to wear your pack T-shirt during the day on Saturday.
